About Arcpoint
Who is Arcpoint Industries?
Arcpoint Industries is a Queensland manufacturer of heavy-duty aluminium ute trays, canopies, service bodies, dog boxes and vehicle storage. Arcpoint was started in 2018 by Adam Nesbitt (General Manager) and Matt Quinlan (Production Design and Development), and our team brings over 30 years of collective experience in sheet metal, service bodies and transport equipment.
Arcpoint Industries is a registered business name of Sunny Coast Customs Pty Ltd (ABN 25 600 923 493).
Where are Arcpoint products made?
Every tray, canopy and service body is designed and built at our workshop in Allora, on Queensland's Southern Downs. Our products are 100% Australian made, and finished in our in-house powder coating facility.
Can Arcpoint do a complete vehicle fit-out?
Yes. Arcpoint is an all-in-one shop for setting up your vehicle for work or play, bumper to bumper. We can take your vehicle direct from the dealer or from your garage and hand it back complete.
As well as trays and canopies, we can organise and fit:
- Suspension, tyres and wheels
- Stainless steel performance exhausts and engine performance packages
- 12V and 24V electrical packages, solar panels and internal canopy lighting
- Fridges, UHF radios, phone boosters, spotlights and compressors
- Roof platforms, towing mirrors, induction cooktops and coffee machines
Who does your electrical work?
Our electrical partner is Michaels Electronics in Toowoomba, a family-owned auto electrical business that has served the Darling Downs and Central Western Queensland for 45 years.
We offer standard electrical packages, from a small system to run a fridge and a couple of lights through to fully off-grid, self-sufficient setups. For every job we take your requirements to Michaels Electronics for their recommendation before we put a solution to you. Custom packages are available on request. See Electrical Packages.
Which accessory brands do you supply and fit?
We work with trusted brands including TJM, ARB, Redarc, Enerdrive, Victron Energy, Engel, Bushman, MSA 4x4, Stedi, Clear View, MAXTRAX, Manta, Custom Lithium and The Bush Company. See 4x4 Accessories or ask us about a specific product.
Trays, Canopies & Service Bodies
Why choose aluminium over steel?
Aluminium won't rust, and an aluminium tray is less than half the weight of a steel one. That can save over 100kg, which means less fuel use, less wear on tyres and mechanicals, and more of your vehicle's payload left for your gear. That matters more than ever when you're working to combined weight limits for towing.
Built the right way, aluminium is just as strong as steel. Aluminium also needs to flex with the terrain on remote tracks, job sites and beach runs, so we design our trays and canopies with that movement in mind.
What's the difference between the APX and Tourer profiles?
Trays: the APX tray has a tubular-style head bow. The Tourer tray has a 100mm x 100mm SHS (square) head bow.
Canopies: the standard APX canopy has a radius roof shape. The Tourer canopy has the Tourer shape, made to suit the Tourer tray headboard.
Shorty canopies and dog boxes are available in both shapes so they match your tray's headboard.
What comes standard with an APX tray body?
- Heavy-duty aluminium construction with aluminium treadplate floor and headboard
- Arcpoint Ezymount interchangeable steel mounting system
- Heavy-duty drop sides and tailgate
- Maxilamp sequential LED taillights and LED number plate lights
- Single-piece 4x4-style aluminium mudguards
- Fuel filler relocation, upgraded to a flush-mount lockable stainless steel filler
- 3-piece APX taillight channels and number plate mount
- Fitting and wiring to your cab chassis at our fitting facility
What's the difference between a chassis mount and a lift-off canopy?
Chassis mount: the canopy mounts directly to your vehicle's chassis as a permanent storage solution. If you'll never need to remove it, this gives you maximum space while keeping weight to a minimum. Our standard chassis mount canopy is two-door, and it can be customised with options like sealed compartments or a space for your dog.
Lift-off: the canopy mounts to a tray and can be removed, so you can switch between enclosed storage and an open flat tray in minutes. Our lift-off points are concealed behind the canopy doors for a clean look and added theft protection, the doors still open and close while the canopy is jacked, and once the doors are locked the jacks can't be removed.
Can you fit a canopy to another manufacturer's tray?
Yes. We design, build and install lift-off canopies to suit trays from other manufacturers, so you don't need an Arcpoint tray to run an Arcpoint canopy. Shorty canopies and dog boxes can also be made in custom sizes and shapes to suit existing trays.
I already have a canopy. Can you fit out the inside?
Yes. We build custom storage and fit-outs for existing canopies, including drawer systems, shelving, tool storage, electrical fit-outs, fridge slides and fully bespoke internal layouts. See Custom Storage Solutions.
What is a shorty canopy?
A shorty canopy gives you lockable, dry, dust-free storage at the front of your tray while leaving tray space free for bulky loads. The standard APX shorty is 750mm long and 1850mm wide, with a flush floor that makes it easy to mount drawer units and fridge slides. See Shorty Canopies.
What dog box options do you offer?
The standard APX dog box is 600mm long and 1850mm wide, with CNC-cut perforation across the entire rear wall and both side doors for airflow. Extra ventilation can be added with perforations in the front wall and pop-up roof vents.
The APX 50/50 dog box is half dog box and half sealed, lockable storage compartment, so your dog and your valuables both travel safely. See Dog Boxes.
Do you build service bodies for trades and fleets?
Yes. Our design team will work with you on a service body that suits the exact needs of your business. Our main options are:
- Trade Service Body: a full-body chassis mount canopy in 2 or 3-door configurations, set up with industry-specific internal storage for electricians, plumbers, builders, mining, mechanical fitters and council fleets.
- Contractors Tray Body: an all-aluminium tray with heavy-duty side pull-out drawers, giving you up to 8 large tool storage areas that stay free from water and dust while the tray deck stays clear for loads.
- Field Service Body: an all-aluminium unit with integrated tool storage boxes, built for fitters who need everything at their fingertips on site.
What finishes and colours are available?
All APX trays and canopies are powder coated as standard in our in-house facility, in a choice of colours from our standard powder coat range. 2-pack wet spray finishes are available on request, and custom metallic or 2-pack colour matching is available at additional cost.
What is the Arcpoint Dust & Waterproof Guarantee?
Our APX canopies and underbody toolboxes are covered by the Arcpoint Dust & Waterproof Guarantee. Every canopy is built with full-length weather seals and internal lock barriers to keep your gear dry and dust-free. For the full terms of the guarantee, contact us at info@arcpointindustries.com.au.

- APX 50/50 Dog Box: a fixed centre divider splits the canopy into a sealed storage side and a ventilated dog side, with perforation on the side door of your choice.
All three are available in three sizes to suit your tray, and we can fit them to any tray.

Where is my build fitted?
Builds can be fitted at our Allora workshop, or delivered to one of our authorised fitters. To find your nearest authorised fitter, email info@arcpointindustries.com.au or see Find a Distributor.

What delivery options are there for builds?
- Depot to depot: collect from the carrier's depot nearest you. Carriers may charge storage fees if goods are left too long, so we'll confirm collection details at dispatch.

- Workshop pickup: available for all builds from our Allora workshop.
Can I collect my build from the workshop?

How long will delivery take?
It depends on the delivery service and your location. Estimated timeframes for Australia Post Express Post, Parcel Post and TNT/FedEx Road Express are listed by state on our Shipping Policy page. Estimates start from dispatch and are a guide only. Remote and rural locations may take longer.

Are there shipping restrictions on lithium battery products?
Yes. Some of our products contain large lithium batteries and are classified as Dangerous Goods. These can have extra shipping restrictions, longer transit times or surcharges, especially to remote areas, islands and some postcodes. You're responsible for complying with all relevant regulations for transporting, storing, using and disposing of lithium batteries.
What about large or oversized items?
Some products, such as drawer systems, roof bars, mounting systems and larger canopy accessories, may be classified as oversized freight. These may need extra handling time, specialised road freight, a signature, help to unload or a booked delivery appointment. If extra freight charges apply because of your location or the product size, we'll contact you before dispatch.
What if an item is on backorder?
We'll contact you with an estimated lead time. If your order has both in-stock and backorder items, we may hold it and ship everything together unless we arrange otherwise with you. For lead times before you order, call 1300 ARCPOINT or email shop@arcpointindustries.com.au.
